Chiropractic India is tasked to establish chiropractic education in India. Decades of foreign graduates coming to India to bring their chiropractic services have been hindered because it is too difficult for foreigners to set up a clinic here. The only solution is to graduate Indian citizens in university programs in our country. This is a great help to have the ability to teach and graduate our own chiropractors, but we need a lot of help from several sectors to succeed.

Corporates, Institutions  who would like to schedule a meeting, interaction, know more about how can Chiropractic and Scoliosis screening be beneficial to your team members and families can schedule a call, meeting or a group discussion. Our Chiropractic and Scoliosis global experts are more than willing to come and speak about the crucial importance of spine, benefits of understanding and evaluating your Spine.

Chiropractic: Spinal screening can act as a first step towards identifying the underlying cause of back pain, as well as giving your chiropractor an indication as to the overall health and condition of your spine and musculoskeletal system. Thus, any misalignment of the vertebrae can cause mobility or problems with the nervous system. Proper spine alignment allows for optimal functioning of the central nervous system. Consequently, you can achieve the proper range of motion and other body functions such as sensations.

Improves your posture. Chiropractic reduces pain and improves range of motion of your spine and other joints. Reduces symptoms of chronic conditions like osteoarthritis. Treats minor neck or spine injuries, especially whiplash and many related.

Scoliosis: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a common spinal disorder that develops between 10 to 16 years of age and is characterized by a lateral curvature of spine with Cobb angle of more than 10°. There has been a wide variation in the prevalence of AIS in different populations of the world. The prevalence of AIS in general population lies between 2-4% [1]. Globally, AIS is more prevalent in females than in males with female/male ratio of 1.5 to 11 [2]. About 2-3% adolescent population have scoliosis with a Cobb angle of greater than 10°, 0.3-0.5% population with a Cobb angle of more than 20°, and less than 0.1% of the population have severe scoliosis.

Early detection of AIS helps in preventing further progression of scoliosis in an individual either by non-surgical (bracing) or by surgical methods [27]. For early detection, school-based screening is an effective method and is recommended by the American Academy of Paediatrics, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America

The establishment of the Asian Institute of Scoliosis LLP and CBP is a significant achievement that will benefit the chiropractic community in India. The focus on teaching the CBP program to chiropractors, physiotherapists, and osteopathic doctors, along with rehabilitation, is a step towards providing comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal disorders.

CBP or Chiropractic BioPhysics is a specialized chiropractic technique that aims to correct abnormal spinal alignment and posture through targeted adjustments, exercises, and other therapies. The focus on teaching this technique and rehabilitation can help improve patient outcomes and provide a more holistic approach to treating spinal disorders.

Overall, initiatives like the establishment of the Asian Institute of Scoliosis and CBP program in India are positive steps towards promoting the growth and development of chiropractic care in the country.

Current Activities:

Current Projects

Macro-Focus

Establishing a dialogue within the chiropractic education community to form a consortium (a think tank +) that is focused on the development of foreign schools. In the absence of a master strategic plan and adequate reserves of available qualified faculty and capital needed to respond to the growing need for DC schools, we will continue to see compromised outcomes in new schools meeting International standards of the profession. Consulting with Chiropractic National Associations in “pioneer” countries with their organizational growth and planning. Chiropractic Schools International (https://chiropracticdiplomatic.com/current-activities/chiropractic-schools-international/)

Global Professional Strategy

Available only in Acrobat .pdf format, this manual on Chiropractic’s GLOBAL PROFESSIONAL STRATEGY (GPS) is our White Paper on the International development of chiropractic. It is a “work in progress” formulating progressive steps for each stage of chiropractic’s development in new countries and frank analyses of issues affecting this growth.

ASIA. Special focus on developing a regional plan for the development of chiropractic schools in each appropriate country, and interesting DCs to practice in the region.

India. Advising local patient-based chiropractic clinic developments in Bangalore. Ongoing consultation with WHO-affiliated NGOs on establishing chiropractic education in India. Visit this section of our website for more information and photos. CDC-Chiro has written an extensive Dossier on Chiropractic in India that is now being expanded to include chiropractic research.

The Philippines. Entered into an MOA following a successful MOU with Philippine University to perform a feasibility study for the viability of a chiropractic program and active student recruitment throughout the Philippines and eventually select ASEAN nations. Initiating grassroots development of a national Spinal Hygiene and Posture Screening program with Straighten Up concepts from America and Australia that we have transformed into a nationwide Public Relations campaign called Mr. & Ms. Posture Philippines.

Vietnam. Promoting the development of a chiropractic school to increase the number of chiropractors in Vietnam. Their rampant ownership of clinics owned by non-chiropractors is becoming a hindrance to the professional advancement of chiropractic in Vietnam, as this has also happened in other SE Asian nations.

Indonesia. Located just north of Australia, Indonesia has been visited by chiropractors from that region and other Western countries for over 20 years without successfully coordinating a legal pathway to practice there. In 2016 all foreign chiropractors were either deported, jailed, or escaped either, or both and it remains illegal for foreign chiropractors to practice in Indonesia. There were only 3-4 indigenous chiropractors remaining who have engaged the Chiropractic Diplomatic Corps to advise and assist in the restoration of the efforts needed to establish a legal pathway for the official recognition of the chiropractic profession. The first step accomplished is the formation of an official WFC membership association. A chiropractic college is at the center of the government’s requirements for acceptance, so there are efforts in place to achieve that objective as soon as possible.

The United States. Over 20 years of actively assisting in creating chiropractic access within “America’s Health Care Safety Net” clinics that serve the poor and migrant farmer populations. Currently serving populations in excess of 1,000,000 patients in rural and urban  FQHCs in 5 states. New advancements in other states have begun resulting in new programs in CA, AZ,  NC, FL, and PA with several other states starting to line up to add chiropractic to their scope of service.

Chiropractic Pioneers and Faculty Pool

The CDC continues to advise individual DCs into starting their own foreign practice. Partnering with DCs who are interested in establishing clinic cooperatives in Asia and in Latin America. Recruiting culturally suitable DCs for foreign practices and American safety-net clinic groups. Looking to build a faculty pool of qualified chiropractors available to teach in new schools starting in poorer countries.

Brunei. Proposed an MOA to assist in the recruitment of students to become chiropractors, in the placement of a half dozen foreign chiropractors to maintain chiropractic services in government health centers to advance the value of chiropractic services in the population in preparation for the indigenous graduates. MOA’s proposal includes scholarships by the government for its selected citizens to train in the upcoming Philippine Chiropractic program.

Burkina Faso, West Africa. Invited by local chiropractic 20-year NGO to meet with MoH to advance the chiropractic profession, establish liaisons with French-speaking chiropractic colleges, assist in the structuring of chiropractic short-term missions, and help establish some chiropractic clinics in the nation’s two major cities. Delayed because of the global pandemic, a renewed effort is resurfacing as part of a West African regional strategy to establish a French and an English language-based chiropractic program.
